Meet Michael Estep

Michael R. Estep is a cofounder of Towel & Basin.

Michael R. Estep has served as a ministry/communications consultant to numerous ministry organizations around the world.

Known for his innovative approaches to communications. Michael established the first denominational network on DishTV with a reach into 15 million homes. He was the host of the television program - Profile for six years interviewing major Christian leaders on a wide variety of issues.

Born in Ashland, KY, Michael grew up in a Christian home under the influence of a praying mother. Saved early in his life, a call to ministry came as a teenager. Michael started preaching at the age of 15 and served as pastor of his first church at 18. He is a graduate of the University of Kentucky at Ashland [AA - '69] and Trevecca Nazarene University [BA - '71]. Mount Vernon Nazarene University bestowed an Honoree Doctor of Ministry degree upon Michael in May 1994.

Michael was youth pastor for three years in Nashville. Served as pastor of three churches in Kentucky and Tennessee leading each to significant growth. Served as at the vice-president level of two universities in public relations and development. He led an international youth in mission program for four years.

He is the author of four books on church planting and missions and has been published in numerous magazines. He was the Editor-in-Chief for Beacon Hill Press of Kansas City for seven years. Additionally, he has been the editor and/or publisher of seven magazines.

He has trained and spoken in over 80 countries and led an urban church mission project that focused on thirteen world-class cities around the world for over a decade.

Michael has developed funding sources for numerous not-for-profit organizations around the world having raised multiple millions of ministry dollars.

He has served on the board of directors for numerous not-for-profit organizations. He is currently serving as Chairperson of the Board and President of Edu-Care International, based in Nashville, TN.

Throughout his life Michael's entrepreneurial spirit has resulted in the creation of several very successful companies. The ProKids Show, formed in 1980, is the most successful school assembly and family night program in America today. ProKids Productions, Inc. has been a leading producer of quality children's programming since the mid-80's - creating such syndicated television products as Snowbird. Animax Designs is a puppet, creature and animatronics company specializing in the custom design, fabrication and animation of characters for live, film and television applications for companies like Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, Peter Pan Industries, Busch Entertainment, Opryland USA, etc.

That entrepreneurial spirit continues today though his current companies --Pacific Grove Group [consulting], Flavor Alliance Records [Christian Hip-Hop], Cumberland Media Group and Kingdom Careers.

Michael is an award winning video executive producer/producer. Currently his production company - Pacific Grove Productions serves a wide-variety of clients with a focus on Christian music video products and television shows.

Michael has been a certified meeting planner for over a decade having organized and managed events up to 50,000 people.

Michael is married to Ginger. They have one married daughter - Kim and one granddaughter - Emma Marie.
